Mayor Dave Bieter and challengers Judy Peavey-Derr and Seth Holden will each take questions from the Idaho Statesman’s mayoral election reader panel starting at 1 p.m. Monday.
The group of seven panelists was invited by the Idaho Statesman Editorial Board to evaluate and share their thoughts on the three candidates as an alternative to a traditional endorsement from the board. Bieter, Holden and Peavey-Derr will each have about an hour with the group. Robert Ehlert, the Statesman’s editorial page editor, will moderate the discussions.
After the interviews, the panel will assign numerical ratings (1 to 10, with 10 being best) to the answers candidates give to a variety of questions. Three citizen members of the Editorial Board will also participate.
We’ll post recordings of the entire interviews and videos comparing the candidates’ answers to key questions as soon as possible. We’ll also publish a summary of the discussions and evaluations in print later this month.
Never miss a local story.
