The Boise River Flood Control District No. 10 begins its annual winter maintenance operations Monday so watch for workers cutting trees and taking out river snags in the low water.
The district's workers will remove hazardous trees and snags and collect debris to burn from Boise to Caldwell. The maintenance removes the debris to prevent restrictions to the river flows during high water periods and decrease the risk of flooding.
In case you are wondering, the Idaho Department of Water Resources and Army Corps of Engineers issue permits for the maintenance
