An Idaho soldier was killed in Iraq Saturday, the Department of Defense announced Sunday.
Spc. James Lee Bridges, 22, of Buhl died in Baghdad from a gunshot wound, according to an Idaho National Guard news release.
Bridges was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 172nd Striker Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
A spokeswoman with the Army Public Affairs office in Virginia said she didn't have any details of Bridges' death. Attempts to contact members of Bridges' family weren't successful.
At least 23 Idahoans have died since the U.S. began its war on terrorism in October 2001.
