Boise School District trustees are expected to begin the search for a replacement for Joan Boren, the trustee elected in 2010, who unexpectedly announced her resignation from the school board last month.
Trustees are expected to officially accept her resignation on Monday, Nov. 10, and then have 90 days to appoint someone to replace her until Sept. 2016, when the appointee would stand for election.
Applicants must be 18, a registered voter in the district, and not have any pecuniary interest in Boise Schools.
Applicants typically fill out applications. When Doug Park was appointed in 2013 to fill the unexpired term of the late Janet Orndorff, applicants went through an interview process that included speaking before trustees at a board meeting.
The district does not yet have a date for when it will start to accept applications.
