Two Nampa residents were arrested early Wednesday after they allegedly walked into an unlocked residence and stole items.
A woman told Caldwell police she woke up about 12:35 a.m. to find two people stealing belongings from her home in the 1900 block of Cambridge Street.
The burglars fled and the woman and another resident chased the pair on foot and in a vehicle but later lost sight of them. The victims believed the suspects were acquaintances, police said.
Later, Jason D. Marez, 26, and Brittany L. Kildow, 25, were arrested and taken to the Canyon County jail in Caldwell.
Both were charged with grand theft by possession. Marez was also held on a burglary warrent from Gem County.
“This incident should remind us all to lock our doors and windows,” Caldwell police Lt. Alan Seevers said in a news release.
