A Caldwell man was arrested Sunday afternoon for aggravated driving under the influence of drugs after rear-ending a car just west of the Ten Mile overpass on Interstate 84 near Meridian, the Idaho State Police reported.
Harald Guerrero Brandt, 20, of Caldwell was headed west at 4:25 p.m. when his 2002 Honda Civil struck the back of a 2002 Dodge Neon driven by Jessica Cosgrove, 38, of Nampa.
Cosgrove’s car then sideswiped a 2008 Dodge pickup driven by Richard Bats II, 44, of Bend, Ore. The pickup then sideswiped a 2005 Nissan Xterra driven by Kaitlyn Thomas, 17, of Meridian.
Thomas and her passenger, Kelly Harris, 37, of Meridian, were taken by ambulance to St. Lukes Meridian. Cosgrove was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus North in Nampa.
The westbound lanes were partially blocked for about two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
Brandt was taken to the Ada County Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon in Ada County Magistrate Court.
The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
