Two Canyon County women whom Nampa police had described as “people of interest” in a murder earlier this month were arrested Friday morning on unrelated warrants.
Jose Corona, 26, was shot multiple times on March 8. He was discovered dead, lying next to a curb on the 400 block of First Street North when emergency personnel arrived, according to Nampa police.
Police then turned to the public for help in seeking the two women: Ashley Zuniga, 21, of Nampa, and Amber Garcia, 20, of Caldwell. Police did not specify how they were connected to the case but said they had felony warrants out for probation violations.
Zuniga and Garcia were booked into the Canyon County Jail around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning, with felony charges of probation violation. On top of that Zuniga also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia with intent to use.

Both women are being held for questioning in the murder, according to police.
