The St. Mark's Respect Life group will erect crosses on the lawn of the church at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, 7960 Northview St. in Boise.
Members of the group say they put the crosses up each year to protest the Supreme Court ruling in 1973 that legalized abortion rights.
The group will join Knights of Columbus and Idaho Catholics Respect Life to set up 3,200 crosses. The public is invited. Volunteers should dress warm, bring a hammer. Coffee, hot chocolate and donuts will be available as long as they last.
The group will also host events on Saturday, Jan. 24. A Life Mass will take place at 11 a.m. at St. John's Cathedral, 707 N. 8th St. in Boise. The March for Life will leave from Julia Davis Park at 1 p.m. and proceed to the steps of the Idaho State Capitol Building. There will be a rally at 1:30 p.m., immediately following the march. A reception hosted by St. John's Social Justice and Knights of Columbus will take place after the rally at St. John's Parish Hall.
