Allstate Insurance places Idaho's capital city behind only Fort Collins, Colo., and Brownsville, Texas for safe drivers.
The company's 2014 America's Best Drivers report showed Boise slipping one spot, however, from its second-place ranking in 2013. According to the numbers, which come from collisions involving Allstate customers, Boiseans average a crash about every 14 years.
That's not quite as good as the average 14.2-year span in Ft. Collins and Brownsville, but way better than the worst cities — Boston and Worcester, Mass. — where drivers average a crash every 4.4 and 4.3 years, respectively.
Allstate says it doesn't use the report to figure auto insurance rates.
