Kuna motorists can expect delays along West Avalon Street and North Bridge Avenue between School Avenue and Main Street starting May 27. This portion of the road will be closed to northbound traffic. A detour is available by traveling east onto West Shortline Street, and then connecting to Swan Falls Road.
Motorists are advised to avoid the construction area wherever possible.
As part of the Kuna Gateway project, Ada County Highway District will be installing asphalt pathway and curb on the north side of Avalon Street and both sides of Bridge Avenue north of the bridge. The bridge railing will be replaced, improvements will be made to Avalon/Shortline/Bridge and Bridge/Main intersections and a flashing beacon will be installed at the pedestrian crossing north of the bridge.
Beginning June 12, southbound traffic along North Bridge Avenue can expect a gravel driving surface until the road is repaved toward the end of the project.
Never miss a local story.
The project will be broken up into two phases: Phase 1 will complete work on the west side of the road; Phase 2 will complete work on the east side of the road. Construction is expected to be complete near the middle of July.
