A 52-year old Caldwell man was injured after being involved in an accident with a semi truck near Middleton at about 7:20 p.m. Friday, according to Idaho State Police.
Jeffery Richlin, 52, of Caldwell was driving west in a 1989 Toyota pickup on Interstate 84 near the Middleton Exit with passenger, Anton Davis, 35, of Billings, Montana. Richlin came upon debris and swerved to avoid it, but lost control of his pickup and smacked into the median guardrail. Then he got into a crash with a 2000 Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a car-hauler. One of the cars slipped of the hauler. Both drivers had their seatbelts on, ISP said.
Richlin was taken to the hospital, ISP said.
Westbound I-84 was closed down for about two hours. The incident is still under investigation.
