Work on the Interstate 84 business loop in Nampa and Caldwell to place a microseal over the surface will begin the week of July 26 and continue for about five weeks, the Idaho Transportation Department announced Tuesday.
The I-84 business loop runs down Nampa-Caldwell Boulevard and Garrity Boulevard. Work is scheduled from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday to minimize the impact on traffic, ITD reports. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the work zone overnight, with all lanes reopened during daytime hours.
Construction will occur in five work areas, starting in Caldwell and continuing through Nampa: I-84 junction to Idaho 19 junction in Caldwell; Idaho 19 to Linden Street; Linden to Karcher Road in Nampa; Karcher to North Yale Street; and Grant Street to the I-84 junction.
The $1.9 million project by Intermountain Slurry Seal aims to extend the life of the existing pavement and provide a smoother driving surface, ITD reports.
