A crash involving four vehicles injured one person and backed up rush-hour traffic on Interstate 84 in Caldwell on Friday.
The 5:41 p.m. crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-84 near the Franklin Road exit when Timothy Fisher, 62, of Kuna, swerved onto the left shoulder to avoid slowing traffic in the area, according to Idaho State Police.
Kuna, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris, was then rear-ended by a 2015 Subaru Outback driven by Desiree Dowling, 31, of Payette. Dowling also collided with the side of a 2004 Ford Escape driven by Jered Stockett, 45, of Parma.
Fisher then collided with the median barrier and struck the side of a 2015 Ford Escape driven by Charlyn Reece, 46, of Nampa.
All occupants were wearing seat belts.
Reece was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Nampa.
The eastbound lanes of travel were blocked for about one-and-a-half hours.
