A Canyon County jury found Roger Faull not guilty on Tuesday of leaving the scene of an accident after running over a good Samaritan on Jan. 15.
Faull’s charge came after police alleged he hit Benjamin Felty, 33, who was helping Faull free his truck from the snow.
The jury found Faull, 50, not guilty of leaving the scene of an injury accident that police said occurred in the 13000 block of Lake Shore Drive in Nampa.
Police claimed at the time that Felty’s truck also became stuck in the snow as he tried to help Faull, so Felty’s wife arrived with a 4x4 and pulled both trucks free. Witnesses claimed that when Felty went to unhook a tow strap from the front of Faull’s vehicle, Faull drove forward, ran over Felty and left.
Felty sustained serious injuries, according to previous reports.
The trial lasted three days.
