Vincent Joseph Sablan, 31, was found dead in an abandoned building Monday night, and on Tuesday the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office sought the public’s help in determining what happened to him.
“There were no obvious signs of trauma,” the sheriff’s office reported in an early afternoon news release, but the death is considered suspicious. An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning, and toxicology reports are pending, CCSO reports. Those results and more investigation is required before deputies can determine whether the Boise man may be the victim of foul play, county spokesman Joe Decker said.
Hunters on the rural property in the 10000 block of Cool Road reported the body to another law enforcement agency, which alerted the sheriff’s office, Decker said.
Deputies went out to the property about 9 p.m. Monday and discovered Sablan’s body. The property is located south of Locust Lane, roughly midway between Lake Lowell and the Snake River.
Further information about Sablan, the property or the circumstances of his death was not immediately available.
The death is under investigation, and anyone who may have had contact with Sablan over the past couple of weeks is asked to call Canyon County detectives at 208-454-7480.
