Can Uber-style rides work for Medicaid patients in Idaho?

Veyo, a tech startup based in San Diego, just began a $70 million three-year contract with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to provide nonemergency medical transportation to Medicaid patients. Drivers say Veyo’s payment rates and an Uber-style system are worrisome. Officials with Idaho and Veyo say the new model will be more efficient and cost-effective while paying drivers more.

Nampa, state eye transformation of city’s eastern gateway

The Centennial and Ridgecrest golf courses would be replaced by a single 18-hole course. The state doesn’t need the 615-acre Southwest Idaho Treatment Center and stands to gain more than $100 million by selling it. Potential new buildings include houses, apartments, hotels, a retirement community, restaurants and commercial office space.
