A man who crashed through the wall of the Rent-A-Center store at 5150 W. Overland Road around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon was suffering from a pre-existing medical condition, according to the Boise Police Department.
The 57-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that weren’t life threatening, but no one inside the building was harmed. The pickup truck came to a rest in the middle of the store after hitting several pieces of furniture.
The man was not issued a citation, since the cause of the accident was medical, according to BPD.
Less than an hour later, Boise police investigated another car-into-building incident. That time a car crashed into an apartment building on the 1300 block of Hartman, causing some structural damage but no injuries, police said.
Never miss a local story.
A 31-year-old man crashed into the Hilton Garden Inn Boise Spectrum on June 30 for medical reasons as well. The driver was taken to the hospital, but no other injuries were reported. He wasn’t cited for the incident, according to BPD.
