The Boise City Council will hear presentations from city planning and development staff members, representatives of St. Luke’s Boise Meidcal Center and neighborhood associations at their April 7 meeting, the city announced Thursday.
A week later, the council will take public testimony from anyone who wants to comment on the proposed expansion of the St. Luke’s campus in Downtown Boise. The hospital’s has proposed closing the eastern portion of Jefferson Street.
Many people who live nearby and walk or bike on that section of Jefferson Street have balked, saying it’s a key connection for people getting around Downtown without a car.
The city took the unusual step of splitting public hearings on the matter because it anticipates major public interest and a lot of people who want to comment.
