A male resident at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Hartman Street jumped out of a second-story window and was severely burned Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out.
The call came in around 2 p.m., and by 2:30 p.m. firefighters on scene appeared to be mopping up. Thirty firefighters responded to the call, Boise Fire Department Spokesperson Char Jackson said.
The fire occurred in an eight-unit, two-story complex, Jackson said. Five units were damaged by fire and an additional two had smoke damage, Jackson said. The resident who jumped out of the window to escape the fire may have also suffered a broken leg, Jackson said.
All other residents were unharmed.
Never miss a local story.
Tuesday’s blaze was the second Boise-area apartment complex fire in less than a week.
A fire broke out at the Parkwood Apartments on Clark Street near the Hillcrest Shopping Center last Friday. Residents of six units were displaced and none were injured.
