A 25-year-old Chubbuck man died in a rollover crash on Interstate 84 east of Boise on Friday evening, according to an Idaho State Police report.
Daniel L. Stumbaugh was driving westbound with three passengers in a 2000 Ford Expedition when he lost control of the vehicle after a tire blew out, ISP said. The vehicle rolled, landing on its roof around mile marker 76 near Simco Road.
Stumbaugh died of injuries at the scene. Passenger Tia M. Boyle, 32, also of Chubbuck and two minor children were taken to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, according to the release. No update was available on their conditions.
According to ISP, Boyle was not wearing a seatbelt, while Stumbaugh was. One of the children was in a safety seat, and it’s unknown if the other wore a seatbelt.
