Ada County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating what caused Edward W. Rochnowski to lose control of his car and crash into a brick sign-holder late Tuesday night.
Rochnowski, who was alone in his PT Cruiser, was headed west on Chinden just after 10:30 p.m. when his car went southwest across the intersection with Locust Grove Road and smashed into the bricks holding a sign for the Valley Life Community Church, the ACSO reports. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told deputies the car began to wobble just before it went off the road, the sheriff’s office reports.
The Ada County Coroner’s office reported Wednesday that Rochnowski died of blunt force trauma and the manner of death was accidental.

Deputies closed the intersection for several hours late Tuesday and early Wednesday while crews investigated what happened.
