A 24-year-old Nampa pilot died in in a small plane crash in Florida Wednesday, a St. Petersburg television station reports.
Marshall Casey Barath was practicing takeoffs and landings shortly before noon when his twin-engine Piper PA-30 crashed off the end of the main runway at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration told Bay News 9. No one else was aboard the plane, the station reports.
The plane is registered to Jet Aircraft Management out of Sarasota. The pilot did not declare an emergency before crashing, an airport spokesman told Bay News 9.
Barath was scheduled to fly the plane to California Thursday, the TV station reports.
