A 55-year-old Meridian man died Thursday afternoon after his pickup collided with a semi-truck loaded with alfalfa seed at the intersection of Idaho 45 and Locust Lane, Nampa police Sgt. Jamie Burns said.
The pickup truck was headed east on Locust Lane about 4:20 p.m. when it pulled in front of the semi, which was southbound on Idaho 45, police said. It is unclear whether the pickup stopped at the stop sign before pulling into the highway, Burns said.
The semi hit the pickup on the driver's side door, police said. The semi's driver, a Nampa man, cut his hand while trying to help the man in the pickup, Burns said. The two men's names have not been released.
That stretch of Idaho 45 was closed for several hours during the investigation, but has since been reopened. The accident is still under investigation.
