A 47-year-old Canyon County Sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized Monday night after a rollover crash involving another car on Idaho 45 in Nampa, according to Idaho State Police.
The crash occurred at about 8:30 p.m. at the highway’s intersection with Locust Lane.
Investigators say Deputy Christopher W. Little was traveling south on the highway in a 2014 Ford Explorer when he collided with a 2000 Plymouth Neon.
Vanessa M. Renteria, a 16-year-old Nampa girl, had stopped at a stop sign before proceeding into the intersection, according to ISP.

The impact of the collision caused Little’s vehicle to roll. It came to rest on the right shoulder of the highway, as did Renteria’s car. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Little was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa.
No information was immediately available Tuesday morning on whether either driver will be cited in the crash. Idaho State Police is handling the investigation.
