Fair-goers this year will find a brand new “grand entrance,” featuring eight ticket booths, nicer fencing, new landscaping and bathrooms. Fair officials celebrated with a ribbon cutting and open house Friday afternoon.
The $1.8 million capital improvement project was self-funded by Expo Idaho, which hosts more than 150 events per year. The 208 Tattoo Festival is happening there this weekend.
This round of improvements also included a new administration building. Other recent renovations have included painting Expo Idaho buildings, upgrading the Boise Riverside RV Park and paving the parking lot at Glenwood Bridge.
The Western Idaho Fair runs Aug. 21-30.
