The gathering will take place Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Caffee Capri, 1122 S. Vista Ave.
It’s meant to give neighborhood residents a chance to connect with members of the Boise Police Department in an informal setting and talk about how to reduce crime.
When officers and neighbors know each other and work together, residents feel more secure because problems get attention and neighborhoods are safer, according to a police department release.
Traffic, patrol, school and neighborhood contact officers, along with department detectives, are scheduled to appear.

The Vista Neighborhood is also part of a City of Boise program known as Energize our Neighborhoods. Officers and others will be available to talk to residents about opportunities connected to this ongoing neighborhood investment program.
Coffee with a Cop joins other Boise Police outreach efforts including National Night Out, the BPD Speakers Bureau, the BPD Citizens Police Academy, Neighborhood Watch, Boise Police PAL (Bigs n’ Blue, Vista PAL Boxing), officer ride alongs and other programs.
Boise Police are planning a series of coffee house gatherings with the goal of including every neighborhood throughout the city.
