Julio Granados, a 40-year-old Boise man, died at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center after crashing into a building early Saturday morning near the Boise Airport.
The Ada County Coroner’s office identified Granados Monday morning.
Officers reported seeing Granados recklessly driving an SUV south on Vista Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. They tried to stop him near West Targee Street, but Granados instead sped up and led them on a chase. Officers later found the SUV crashed into a building on the 2000 block of West Airport Way.
It’s unclear which building Granados crashed into. Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said it was a private business.

The coroner’s office identified “blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle accident” as the cause of Granados’ death.
