Fire crews were called to a fire in a vacant mill building near 4th Street and Broadway Avenue in downtown Melba early Wednesday afternoon, according to Canyon County dispatchers.
"They've already got the fire out," Melba City Clerk Noni Stapleton said at about 2:15 p.m. "They're doing some clean up. There's no smoke or anything."
Melba is located south of Nampa in rural Canyon County. Ada and Canyon County fire crews responding to the call.
Stapleton said the fire did not appear to threaten any other buildings downtown, and it would not affect preparations for the town's popular Fourth of July festivities.
