A new traffic pattern will be set up on Interstate 84 in Meridian this weekend, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
ITD said lanes will be shifted between Ten Mile and Locust Grove roads so workers can rebuild the outside lanes and shoulder on the eastbound side under the Meridian Interchange.
To keep three lanes open in both directions, the far left eastbound lane will cross over to the westbound side of the interstate. The lane will be separated from opposing traffic and will not have access to the Meridian road interchange. To exit at the Meridian interchange, motorists will need to stay in the far right lane.
The crossover traffic pattern that has been in place on the westbound side of I-84 since late September will be removed.
The new traffic pattern is expected to remain in place for a couple months. ITD expects the work to be complete by late December, depending on weather.
