Two people died Monday morning in a crash at West Gowen and Pleasant Valley roads, Boise Police report.
Here is how police describe the accident: a semitrailer carrying sand and gravel appears to have rolled and landed partially on a pickup truck. A man and woman inside the pickup were found dead by police. The semi driver, from Boise, was not injured.
The semi was driving north on Pleasant Valley Road and was turning east onto Gowen Road when the truck rolled. The pickup appears to have been eastbound on Gowen Road.
Authorities did not provide any names and no charges had been filed as of midafternoon Monday. It doesn’t seem as though either driver was impaired, according to a statement from Boise police.
“Investigations of this nature must be painstakingly thorough and often involve complete vehicle inspections, scene reconstruction and evidence testing of those involved,” the statement read. “Investigating officers will uncover as much information as possible about every aspect of incident, then review the evidence with prosecutors to see what if any criminal charges may result. Officers must allow adequate time for that process, again to be as thorough and complete as possible.”
Gowen Road east of Pleasant Valley Road will be closed for several hours while an investigation is conducted.
