Your stolen bike just found a better chance of making its way back home.
The Boise Police Department’s Bike Registry is partnering with Bike Index, a national registry filled with more than 128,000 entries, in an effort to return more stolen bikes to their proper owners.
An average of 30 bicycles are reported stolen each month in Boise, according to Boise police. Bike Index asks users to upload pictures of their bicycles, their serial numbers and other important distinguishing information. That information will help police find stolen bicycles. Those with already-stolen bikes can report them missing through the website as well.
You can register your bike at the Boise Police Department’s website. There will be sign-ups during pregame festivities for Thursday’s Boise State-New Mexico football game outside of Albertsons Stadium.
