A 3-year-old boy died last weekend after being pulled from an Ontario, Ore., pond, according to Ontario police.
The boy, who was not identified, was found in a pond at Beck-Kiwanis Park not breathing. The child was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later airlifted to a hospital in Boise, where he died. Police did not specify when the child died.
According to witness statements, the boy was in the care of an adult aunt at an apartment near the park. She had left the room and returned to find the toddler was gone. Friends and family found him in the pond as they searched the area.
Child services was contacted, but no charges were filed, police said. An Ontario Police Department representative said police don’t anticipate any charges will be filed in the future.
