A juvenile was struck by a car around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, closing down westbound lanes of the Interstate 184 Connector for more than an hour.
The collision occurred during a heavy rainstorm that had soaked the roads when one Connector drain was blocked.
Nicole D. Herrick, 38, of Boise, was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Passat when she hit the juvenile, who was standing on the side of the road after the car he was in had broken down.
The minor did not suffer serious injury but did have a pre-existing foot condition, Idaho State Police said.
A person traveling with the minor was also standing outside of their vehicle, according to ISP, and a car had stopped to assist them. No one else was injured, but the juvenile was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Herrick was cited for driving at speeds inappropriate for the road conditions.
