I read with interest the story in Business Insider last week about Jack Lemley. He has had quite a career and much to be proud of. He has helped with public infrastructure projects all over the world, such as The Channel Tunnel between Britain and France, Metro in Istanbul, Turkey, and many hydroelectric projects around the world.
I couldn’t help but think about all of the needs in our country for improved energy distribution systems, upgraded and improved transportation systems, such as high speed rail, road and bridge repair, etc. For our country to compete economically in the world we need to begin investing and it will pay great dividends to our economy and way of life going forward. It can’t be all about reducing taxes. We need to make investments to remain competitive in the global economy.
