Tariq McWilliams, accused of stabbing a Boise man to death outside the Torch bikini bar in September, is now set to enter a plea on a second-degree murder charge later this month.
Fourth District Magistrate James Cawthon determined Monday there was enough probable cause to bind the case against McWilliams over to the District Court, where felonies are tried.
Cawthon made that decision Monday after a day-long preliminary hearing.
McWilliams is scheduled to be arraigned in front of 4th District Judge Deborah Bail on Nov. 30. The charge of second degree murder is punishable by up to life in prison.
The 31-year-old McWilliams is accused of stabbing Jason Robert Tipton to death in the parking lot of the Torch bikini bar, 1826 Main St., in the early morning hours of Sept. 24.
Tipton was pronounced dead at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise less than an hour after he was stabbed, according to Boise police reports.
Witnesses told police a verbal altercation between several men in the parking lot turned into a physical fight before the stabbing.
Police officials have not said what they suspect the fight was about.
