A Boise man was in the Ada County Jail on Monday night after police say he used a stolen car to intentionally ram an unmarked Boise police car and lead officers from two cities on a short pursuit.
Joseph Ouellette, 28, is charged with felony eluding, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony aggravated battery on a police officer and resisting and obstruction police officers.
About 8:30 p.m. Monday, officers saw a car with fake license plates leave Garden City and enter Boise, according to a release from Garden City police.
Boise and Garden City officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Fairview Avenue, west of Liberty Street. Ouellette rammed the unmarked Boise police car and led officers on a chase.
Speeds reached 55 mph, police said, and as Ouellette attempted to flee, the suspect's car crashed into the rear of a passenger car stopped at the light near Cole Road and Fairview Avenue.
The force of the collision pushed the passenger car into another vehicle stopped at the light. One person reported minor injuries.
Officials say Ouellette left the vehicle and ran north into a parking lot, where he was apprehended by officers.
