The annual Cazba Thanksgiving Day fest for those in need is on for this year and Trish Elrod, owner of Moon River Distributing is again coordinating acquiring the actual turkeys. Each year about 300 people who are homeless or otherwise in need, show up for the traditional meal that is served up by a legion of volunteers at the Cazba Restaurant, 211 S. 8th St., Boise, 381-0222. This year, organizers expect more people to need the servise.
This year, there are two ways to help:
* Cook a turkey, some mashed potatoes, green beans or a pie or seven, and deliver them to Bitter Creek Ale House, 246 8th St., Boise, between 8 and 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26, (Thanksgiving Day). Contact Elrod trisha@moonriverwines.com to confirm what you will be bringing so she can better plan the day.
* You also can donate a raw turkey this year and the chefs at Bitter Creek will get 'em done. To donate a fresh or frozen turkey, contact Elrod at 342-8300 to find out when when and where to deliver. To volunteer to prepare, serve and clean up, contact the Cazba Restaurant, 211 N. 8th St., 381-0222 to sign up for two hour shifts.
