Talk about a 'New U Rising'.
Horizon Air's blue-and-orange 76-seat Bombardier Q400 will add some lift to Boise State's marketing theme when it takes to the skies Monday. It's the fifth of Horizon's Northwest college fleet (after Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Washington State).
No plans for a black and gold plane, officials say.
Dan Russo, vice president of marketing and communications at Horizon Air, said Boise is one of Horizon's biggest cities, in terms of boardings and employees, and the plane helps celebrate 25 years of service to the city.
University of Idaho spokeswoman Tania Thompson said the school has been in talks with Horizon "for some time" about a plane with Vandal colors. "It makes sense given the large number of Vandal alumni and friends throughout the Northwest," she said.
Bronco Nation, here's your chance to rub it in.
The new plane will fly over the Boise State-Idaho game Nov. 14.
