The Central District Health Department this week has announced vaccination clinics in two districts:
- Mountain Home, beginning Tuesday.
- Kuna, on Thursday, Nov. 12.
Clinics are being planned for the Meridian and Boise districts, too, but there is no schedule yet.
Depending on supplies, the clinics may be limited to nasal mist vaccinations, which are recommended only for healthy students, not for those with underlying health conditions.
The Central District Health Department, which serves Ada, Elmore, Boise and Valley counties, also is developing plans for integrating private and charter schools with more than 50 students into the department's schedule of school vaccinations.
The Southwest District Health Department, which serves Canyon, Adams, Gem, Owyhee, Payette and Washington counties, is talking with schools, too.
"We are going to be able to get some to the College of Idaho, and we are talking to the Caldwell schools," spokeswoman Laurie Boston said.
In related developments:
- Gem County school nurses and volunteers have vaccinated students there under the Southwest district's oversight.
- Middleton students were to be immunized this week.
- A community clinic in Homedale has been reset for Nov. 18.
