Concrete Placing Co. Inc. of Boise is the apparent low bidder on Interstate 84 improvements for the Garrity Boulevard interchange bridge and from 11th Avenue to Garrity, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
Construction is expected to last about 18 months, beginning in December and finishing in June 2011.
Bids on the project were opened Tuesday. The low bid of $14.9 million was one of six bids received.
The project will remove two bridges at the Garrity interchange in Nampa and replace them with a single bridge to accommodate three lanes in each direction on I-84. Work also includes reconstructing the interstate about a mile east of the interchange to tie into the Garrity interchange to Meridian interchange widening project currently under way on the interstate.
