Elmore County Sheriff's officials say a group of people managed to pull a woman out of her rolled-over pickup truck before it caught fire along eastbound I-84 in Elmore County Monday morning.
Limited information on what happened was available Monday morning but Elmore County dispatchers say the woman, whose age was estimated to be about 70 years old, was taken to a local hospital for treatment for treatment following the wreck.
Sheriff's officials say the woman was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Interstate 84 when she lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over into the median near milepost 129.
That was when an as yet undetermined amount of people stopped their cars, got out, and went over the smoking wreckage, where they were able to pull the woman out before the truck caught fire, according to dispatch reports.
Fire crews were able to put out the fire while the woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Elmore County say they received multiple 911 calls from the scene, as the pickup was fully engulfed in flames at one point. The fire also caused some traffic issues on eastbound I-84 as emergency crews responded to the fire.
