• Missing in America
The State Veterans Cemetery will hold the "Missing In America" ceremony, 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 6, at the cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, to inter recovered cremains of 13 veterans.
The cremains, which had been missing or abandoned in a funeral home in north Idaho, will be interred in a public ceremony. Idaho Army National Guard Brig. General Alan C. Gayhart gives the keynote address.
The Missing in America Project began in Idaho in 2005, and is a collaboration between the Veterans Cemetery, funeral homes and other organizations.
Since the program began, the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery has interred the cremains of 57 veterans and five spouses. Info: 334-4796.
• Veterans Day Parade
10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, in Downtown Boise, starting at 10th and Bannock Streets, ending on 11th and Idaho Streets.
• Veterans Day Ceremony, Idaho State Veterans Home
The ceremony, 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Veterans Home, 320 Collins Road, Boise, will include presentation of the Spirit of Freedom Awards to veterans by officials from Sen. Mike Crapo's office.
Note: Treasure Valley hospices will provide free transportation for homebound veterans who would like to attend. Veterans should reserve a spot by calling 322-4663 by Friday, Nov. 6.

Military "eat free" day at Applebee's: Veterans and active duty military should bring proof of military service to get a free meal during business hours, Wednesday, Nov. 11. Go online for details: www.applebees.com.
Free car washes for veterans: Metro Express Car Wash in Boise and Meridian will give free car washes to veterans on Wednesday, Nov. 11, as part of the Grace For Vets program. Veterans should take their cars in during business hours at the Boise location, 13th and Front Streets, and in Meridian, Pine Street at Eagle Road.
Cabela's honors "Hometown Heroes:" Veterans, active duty military and reserves, law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel can buy items at employee prices on Nov. 11-12. Veterans and others should present their service ID at the check-in table.
Military appreciation at Golden Corral: The restaurant hosts Military Appreciation Monday, and a free dinner, 5-9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16, 8460 W. Emerald St., Boise. Veterans or those serving in the National Guard or reserves are welcome.
