Achilles, 1-1/2, is a neutered male pit bull mix. This smart, curious dog learned basic obedience training and tricks as part of the Inmate Dog Alliance Project of Idaho program. Achilles still acts a lot like a puppy, and his new family will need to set clear boundaries and reinforce his training to help him succeed. He would benefit from having room to run and physical activities. He loves to play and wrestle with other dogs, but he can be too rough for some. He would do well in a home with older children and dogs who share his style of play. He will need to be in a home without cats. Because Achilles is an IDAPI graduate, an application is required and his adopters will be asked to attend a two-hour orientation to learn about the training he has received.
Achilles (#22380561) can be found in kennel 301 at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
