It's the week that contains Valentine's Day, and even though it'll be over by Wednesday, there's no reason not to continue eating the official food of Valentine's Day the whole week. This week, we'll share decadent recipes that utilize chocolate. Today's comes from Saveur magazine.
16 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1⁄2-inch cubes and chilled, plus more for pie plate
1⁄4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 9-oz. package chocolate wafers, finely ground (about 2 1⁄4 cups)
3 1⁄2 cups half-and-half
2⁄3 cup plus 2 tbsp. sugar
1⁄4 cup cornstarch
9 egg yolks
9 oz. semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
2 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups heavy cream
