Acclaimed fiction writer Denis Johnson will read from his work in a free program, open to the public, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 in the Simplot Ballroom at the Boise State Student Union Building.
Johnson joined the Boise State Department of English this fall as the first Distinguished Professor teaching in the university’s creative writing program.
Johnson has written novels and novellas, as well as short stories. His work includes poetry, plays and reportage. His novel, “Tree of Smoke,” won the 2007 National Book Award. Johnson has taught at the Iowa Writers Workshop and at the James Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin.
