Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Joshua M. Myers, son of Christine L. Bolander of Meridian and Michael W. Myers of Kuna, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J. Myers, a 2005 graduate of Eagle Academy in Eagle, completed training in academics and practical instruction on water safety and survival, seamanship skills, first aid, fire fighting and marksmanship.

Marine Corps Reserve Lance Cpl. Andrew J. Martin, son of Edith S. and William F. Martin of Eagle, and Marine Corps Reserve Lance Cpl. Luther A. Ash, son of Tally and Daniel L. Ash of Boise, received the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, while assigned with Inspector and Instructor Staff, Company C, 4th Tank Battalion, Boise. The medal recognizes honest and faithful service while actively participating in the Reserve Program for a three-year period.

Army National Guard Pvt. Brian L. Phillips, son of Darryl Phillips of Kuna and Charmaine Simonson of Boise, graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is a 2008 graduate of Kuna High.

The following airmen have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas: Air Force Airman Sean Caffrey, son of Richard Caffrey of Nampa, a 2008 graduate of Skyview High School, Nampa; Air Force Airman Selena L. Stelfox, daughter of Stephanie Stout of Parma, a 2007 graduate of Fruitland High School; Air Force Airman Jeremy D. Price, son of Mark Price of Caldwell, a 2008 graduate of Emmett High School; Air Force Airman Jeffrey M. Seabolt, son of Raymond and Debra Seabolt of Nampa, a 2005 graduate from Mountain View High School, Meridian; Air Force Airman Chris J. Hayes, son of Mary Hayes of Eagle, a 2007 graduate of Eagle High School; Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Kenneth J. Hild, son of Brad and Mary Hild of Nampa; Air Force Airman Denietra M. Cheney, daughter of Joseph and Ronda Laca of Mountain Home, a 2008 graduate of Mountain Home High School; Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Shailie D. Ballard, daughter of Tanya Ballard of Boise; and Air National Guard Airman Jason L. Atwell, son of Bill Atwell Eagle, a 2006 graduate of Eagle Academy.
