Your Treasure Valley friends and neighbors in the military

The following airmen have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas: Air Force Airman Ricardo J. De La Cruz, son of Marisol Acosta of Mountain Home, a 2008 graduate of Mountain Home High School; Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Nurudeen A. Ibrahim; and Air Force Airman Michael F. Randolph, son of Nancy and stepson of Wes Stanger of Nampa, a 2008 graduate of Vallivue High School, Caldwell.

Craig Lee McGinley, son of Merrie Beth Golling and Kevin Lee McGinley, has graduated from Marine Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif., as a sharpshooter, trained in combat water survival, marksmanship, field and physical training and advanced academic training. McGinley, a graduate of Borah High, Boise, will continue Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Recent graduates of U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., include: Navy Seaman Apprentice Anna R. Van Leeuwen, daughter of Lori B. and Joseph S. Van Leeuwen of Boise, a 2005 graduate of Capital High School; Navy Reserve Seaman Samuel A. Shearman III, son of Pamela Shearman and Samuel Shearman, both of Boise, a 1992 graduate of Meridian High School; and Navy Seaman Michelle S. Ross, daughter of Dolores J. Rowen of Boise, a 1999 graduate of Centennial High.

Army Pvt. Danielle N. Davis, daughter of Michelle Files-Baker of Boise, and Army Pvt. Steven T. Cowger, son of Shannon and Galen Cowger of Wilder, a 2008 graduate of Centerpoint Academy, Caldwell, have graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Army Pvt. Joe L. Buckingham and Army National Guard Pfc. Blake C. Pannell have graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Buckingham, brother of Latina Duddleston of Boise, is a 2008 graduate of Mountain Cove High School. Pannell, son of Marlene Simpson of Boise, is a 2006 graduate of Borah High School.

Air Force Airman Jesse P. Burton, son of Kevin and Debbie Burton of Mountain Home, graduated from a utilities systems apprentice course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. He is with the 354th Civil Engineering Squadron, Fairbanks, Alaska.
