CARE Club (Community Alzheimer's Respite & Enrichment) is seeking volunteers to come Christmas caroling at its care center weekday afternoons during December. Volunteers are also needed to work with seniors who are in the early stages of Alzheimer's and other forms of memory loss. Senior Solutions needs volunteers to help seniors live independently, from making phone calls to light housekeeping. Orientation and training provided. Call 345-7777.

Boise Memorial Hospice is looking for volunteers to visit and provide support for hospice patients and families. Hours are flexible. Call Jenny Kendall at 938-4100.

Journeys Hospice needs volunteers of all ages to visit with patients so caregivers can take breaks. Adult volunteers are needed to play games, visit with and read to patients. Younger volunteers can make birthday, holiday and special-occasion cards and bake cookies. Training provided. Call 461-3035.

Faith in Action is seeking volunteers to help with light housework for frail seniors. The interfaith program offers caregiving services to seniors and respite and companionship for families coping with Alzheimer's and other forms of memory loss. Call 333-1363.

SANE solutions and the Family Violence Prevention Program is seeking holiday donations for children who are receiving counseling through their program. Items needed: toys for various ages, books, gloves, scarves, hats, puzzles, scented lotions, and hair accessories. Counselors are also seeking art supplies (glue, glitter, construction paper, copy paper, paint, markers), books and puzzles to help facilitate counseling. Family Hospice needs volunteers who can provide non-medical support for terminally ill patients in their homes. Training provided. Contact Becky Jensen, director of public outreach at 888-7900.
