Parma High football coach Greg Asbury has a way to describe his offense: "Pick your poison.''

"Typically in our offense if you try and shut down our fullbacks, the tailback has a big night,'' he said. "The option can go to either side, easily.''

The defending state champion Panthers (10-0) are on a 21-game winning streak entering Friday's 2A final against Declo (11-0) at 5 p.m. at Holt Arena in Pocatello.

It is a rematch of last year's title game, which Parma won 29-28 in overtime.

Parma's ability to spread the ball has resulted in seven running backs with 100 or more rushing yards and three players with 98 or more receiving yards. Thirteen players have scored touchdowns in an offense that outscores opponents by an average of more than 36 points per game.

"We don't worry about the stats, we just worry about the team," said senior fullback Israel Urrabazo, who shares time at the position with juniors Lance Johnson and Cesar Jacobo. "We try to get everybody involved because we don't want to make it seem like there's just one person on the team that's doing it."

Asbury uses up to five different backs during a game and they often rotate in and out on their own.

Senior Tyler Ford splits time at tailback with junior Evan Miller and sophomore Spencer Wheeler. The three have combined for 1,071 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The benefit of having so many backs at their disposal means the Panthers have fresher legs and have stayed healthier throughout the season because they aren't taking as many hits.

What's made the offense sing, however, is first-year starting quarterback Trevor Kramer.

The junior is the only player on the Panthers' roster with more than 1,000 yards in any category. He has completed 82-of-126 passes for 1,611 yards and 11 TDs. He's also added 121 rushing yards and three more scores.

"We've got a quarterback this year that is reading the veer really well," Asbury said. "That, in essence, is one more running back."

Kramer is also a proficient passer who has learned to find the open man. First-team All-Idaho tight end Randy Riley often gets double- and triple-teamed, so Kramer has spread the ball between seven receivers.

Adan Arteaga, Andrew Gamez and Brody Fuller split time at receiver. Dillon Griener and Devin Erickson serve as flankers. Their primarily responsibility is to block, but that doesn't leave them out of the offensive picture. Griener and Erickson have a combined 12 touchdowns.

"We don't care who gets the stats as long as we win," Asbury said. "That's really what I think is impressive about our team is they really do play as a team."
