Mountain View, which advanced to its first 5A girls soccer state tournament in school history last season, is atop the 5A Southern Idaho Conference standings with two games remaining before the District Three tournament begins next Saturday.
The Mavericks (9-1-3, 6-1-1 5A SIC), who were tied for third place last week, climbed into the lead in the race for the regular-season title with victories against Centennial last Wednesday and Eagle on Monday.
The Mavericks can wrap up their first 5A SIC title and the top seed in the district tournament with victories in their final two games and either a tie or a loss by second-place Capital (10-2-2, 5-0-2) in one of its final three games.
Mountain View hosts Meridian at 6 p.m. Wednesday and visits Rocky Mountain at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.
